1 in 3 Australian kids lose their brave fight to cancer every week. This devastating statistic drives SCHF to promote charitable investment in the prevention and management of childhood illnesses like cancer. The funds raised from Walk for Kids with Cancer helps ensure kids with cancer continue to receive the best possible care.
This iconic event, which began as a small peer-to-peer event by the late Bob ‘Tug’ Wilson, was created after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer himself. He wanted to create change for the “young ones” and began rallying others to join his cause. Now running in its 17th year, the walk continues to make an impact on sick kids, with Bob’s legacy raising more than $2million and counting.
